Little Gift ideas

Christmas is a time for family, food and quite frankly an awful lot of stress, especially if the more useless members of your family (often the men) pass all the responsibilties over to you. Everybody wants their family and friends to have a great time, be happy with the presents they received and in order for that to happen the nerve-racking task of Christmas shopping needs to take place.

Here are some of my favourite gift ideas.

Tree Decorations – I have been lucky enough to receive some gorgeous and personal decorations which I will treasure forever such as a sparkly, tassel covered giraffe (it’s my favourite animal), a handmade knitted angel from an elderly aunt and a norwegian bauble off my step-grandad (who has norwegian family). Therefore I love giving tree decorations as presents. I brought Henry VIII and Elizabeth I decorations from the St Nicholas company (which have a huge variety) for my a level history teachers last year.

This year I am gifting my parents a personalised pet ornament customized to look like our very naughty dog, Buster.

I ordered it from a company called TheDogsCollarsUK and it arrived within 2 days! https://amzn.to/33RmTeU

As you can probably guess I love receiving and giving books, This book of poems to live your live by – Chris Riddell features lots of gorgeous illustrations and lovely sentiments without being too lovie-dovie or mushy. This made it perfect for a close family friend. https://amzn.to/357dlfL

A friend of mine was frequently regaling me with stories of bathing her pet guinea pigs (yes bathing guinea pigs is as funny as it sounds), so I brought her a set of ceramic salt ‘n’ pepper shakers. Here is a similar set: https://amzn.to/2Oj4ktn

Supporting the high street and small independent businesses is really important and something I love doing however as someone whose health is shaky at best, the fact that all of these gifts are available online is a god send for somebody who isn’t well enough to drive (plus doesn’t own a car).

What’s the best quirky present you have ever received?
